Mighty Hunters

Daniel went on his first hunting trip with his Daddy, and it was quite successful!  When Brian woke Daniel at 6 a.m. to go turkey hunting, Daniel was not so sure about it.  However, he soon warmed to the idea, and they bundled up and took off into the cold, dark morning.  Within about 30 minutes of getting settled in the blind, Brian had shot their turkey! Hurray!

 The mighty hunters depart...

conquer their foe...

and return home!

The Children Are Tender

My mom's first novel, The Children Are Tender, has just been released by Ambassador International.  We are so proud of her and all the hard work and prayers she put into this book.  It is a blessing to us!  The fact that my mom and I are both teachers and both have a heart for children makes this book even more special to me.  You can find it at Amazon here

The local library hosted a book signing for her this past weekend.  Here are some photos from the event.

First taste

I was doing laundry in the basement with Logan sitting in the basket.  Daniel wanted a popsicle out of the deep freeze, so I told him he could have one.  He squeezed into the laundry basket beside Logan with his treat, and this is what transpired next.  So glad I had a camera close by!

 Logan wants some!

His first taste of popsicle (lime no less)!

 Sour!

But he wants more anyway!

Happy Easter!

Each of these photos, all taken at Easter, show the evolution of our family.

 Easter 2007
Just the two of us!

 Easter 2009
And baby makes three!

Easter 2012
A family of 3 and a half.  We are expecting!

 Today...Easter 2013

We are praising the Lord for where we have been, where we are, and what is yet to come.  Most of all, we thank Him that imperfect people like us can walk with the Lord and spend eternity with Him in heaven because of the cross.  Happy Easter!

Sledding...finally!

Last winter was fairly mild, and I remember only one snow of just a couple inches.  It was rather disappointing, especially since Daniel had received a sled for Christmas and never really got to try it out.  This winter seemed to be a repeat.  Mild temperatures and no snow!  That is until Thursday when we received a whopping 13 inches.  Daniel has enjoyed it immensely, playing outdoors several times each day.  This afternoon we took him for his first true sledding experience.  Daniel loved it...all except trudging back up the hill after sledding all the way down!  It was quite a work out for all of us.

The perfect ending to the afternoon was when we drug our happily-exhausted selves to my parent's house to pick up Logan, and my mom had made the most delicious gingerbread in the whole world.  It was fresh out of the oven, and the warm gingerbread with butter melting on the top made the perfect after-sledding snack.  Thanks, Mom!

This last photo shows Annie (right) our first dog who now lives with my parents and Daniel's Christmas dog, Moose (left).  Both of them love the snow!
