Sledding...finally!

Last winter was fairly mild, and I remember only one snow of just a couple inches.  It was rather disappointing, especially since Daniel had received a sled for Christmas and never really got to try it out.  This winter seemed to be a repeat.  Mild temperatures and no snow!  That is until Thursday when we received a whopping 13 inches.  Daniel has enjoyed it immensely, playing outdoors several times each day.  This afternoon we took him for his first true sledding experience.  Daniel loved it...all except trudging back up the hill after sledding all the way down!  It was quite a work out for all of us.  

The perfect ending to the afternoon was when we drug our happily-exhausted selves to my parent's house to pick up Logan, and my mom had made the most delicious gingerbread in the whole world.  It was fresh out of the oven, and the warm gingerbread with butter melting on the top made the perfect after-sledding snack.  Thanks, Mom! 

 

 

This last photo shows Annie (right) our first dog who now lives with my parents and Daniel's Christmas dog, Moose (left).  Both of them love the snow! 

Just a jumpin'

This little guy certainly enjoys his jumperoo!  He will jump like crazy, rest for a moment, and then start up again.  It is his favorite pastime while mama makes supper.  Well, perhaps his favorite pastime is watching big brother, but this has to be a close second!

Birthday party

For Daniel's birthday, we had his first party with friends.  It was so much fun!  We invited five little guys, and they all came.  Of course our theme had to be Star Wars, so for snacks we had lightsaber pretzels, wookie cookies, cupcakes with Star Wars decorations, and yoda soda. The boys made their very own blasters (marshmallow guns from PVC pipe) and practiced their shooting on pictures of bad guys hanging around the kitchen.  They also searched through an asteroid field for hidden asteroids (candy balled up in aluminum foil) and played a rousing game of Star Wars bingo.  They also spent lots of time just playin'!  Daniel enjoyed it immensely!

It was so much fun to spend the day with my sweet sis-in-law and her precious baby girl. Here are the cousins together!

Christmas Babies

 Christmas is always special with little ones around, and we have felt so blessed this year.  I pulled out the Santa suit we dressed Daniel in when he was a baby, and it fit Logan perfectly.  Here is a photo of each of them wearing their Christmas pajamas and that same Santa hat!

Happy Halloween!

It came as no surprise that Daniel wanted to be something Star Wars related for Halloween.  He settled on Luke Skywalker, but not just any Luke Skywalker.  It had to be the one from the Return of the Jedi movie, with the black outfit and green light saber.  Since Daniel was doing Star Wars, we decided that Logan should follow the same theme.  So we ended up with a most dashing Luke Skywalker and a most adorable baby Ewok. 

       Logan wore his costume without complaint, though he really wanted to eat the fur off the front of it and chew on the hood.  We walked around the neighborhood trick or treating until Logan got fussy and Daniel’s boots started to hurt.  We also visited the fire station, great-grandparent’s house, and a few other friends around town.  It was a fun evening!
